Mounting & Frames
Shutters can be mounted outside the window opening or inside. To decide which is right for you, talk to our windows-covering consultation team by calling 1300 799 952 or fill out the contact form to have us call back.
L Frame or Hinge Only
For windows with decorative trim or molding, we recommend an inside mount for your PVC plantation shutters. In this setup, the shutters are directly attached to your window frame using hinges or a small shutter frame known as an “L” frame. We offer three different sizes of L frames, ranging from small to large, to suit various window depths and styles.
Decorative L Frame and Z Frame
If your window does not have decorative molding or if the existing molding is worn, an outside mount with built-in molding is an ideal solution for a polished look. You can opt for an “L” frame that sits outside the window opening, or a “Z” frame, which overlaps the window corners for a seamless and finished appearance.
Inside Mount Options
An inside mount provides a clean, minimal look and is ideal when you want to highlight your window’s existing trim or molding. It ensures the shutters fit snugly within the window frame, maintaining a streamlined profile. Our inside mount options are perfect for maximizing space while providing full functionality and style.
Outside Mount Options
An outside mount is recommended for windows without trim or when you want to cover up imperfections or worn-out moldings. This mount style enhances the window’s visual appeal by extending beyond the frame, making it an excellent choice for creating a bold, finished look. With decorative L and Z frame options, you can choose the perfect style that complements your room’s aesthetic
